Join our dedicated team at the Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment, a non-profit committed to improving family and community health through addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery services. We are seeking two additional Evening Registered Nurses to enhance our Detox and Withdrawal Management program.

These positions are designed to provide additional support to our teams, ensuring a balanced workload and improved patient care. As an RN in our program, you will deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to individuals experiencing addiction challenges. As well as, work with an interdisciplinary team of LPNs, Clinical Assistants, and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors.

Summary:

This individual performs medical administration for patients of the Center of Alcohol and Drug Treatment. Oversee medical care of patients and promote optimal health and refer patients needing a higher level of care. Manage difficult patients and oversee LPNs and other support staff as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and accurately document a relevant health history from patients; perform a Comprehensive physical and mental health assessment.
  • Identify medical and mental health problems and develop/implement a plan of care to minimize complications and promote optimal health. Immediately refer patients needing a higher level of care to appropriate facilities.
  • Counsel patients and use the therapeutic relationship to promote health.
  • Teach/coach patients and family members to impart knowledge and associated skills.
  • Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Appropriately implement protocols and order. Review licensed practitioner orders, monitor documentation, and ensure enforcement of rules and regulations, including staffing requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of healthcare practices, including agency policies and procedures, documentation, and professional and licensing standards of care.
  • Provide and direct healthcare of patients, including supervision of the nursing care.
  • Review medication use and assure staff follows the medication control policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Licensed Practitioner with history and physicals.

Establish and implement procedures for the provision of nursing care and delegated medical care, including:

  • a health monitoring plan;
  • a medication control plan;
  • training and competency evaluations for staff performing delegated medical and nursing functions;
  • handling serious illness, accident, or injury to patients;
  • an infection control program; and
  • a first aid kit;
  • delegating nursing functions to other staff consistent with their education, competence, and legal authorization;
  • assigning, supervising, and evaluating the performance of nursing tasks; and
  • implementing condition-specific protocols in compliance with section 151.37, subdivision 2.

Qualifications:

  • This individual must have a certificate in nursing from a college or technical school.
  • Must be a current Registered Nurse certified by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified or obtain it before direct patient contact.
  • Must pass background studies issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
  • Must know and understand the requirements of 245F, sections 245A.65, 253B.04, 253B.051, 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapter 260E.
